Hi, I'm Patrick McKanna.

I’m a photographer specializing in portraits, events, and the marching arts. I started behind the camera photographing school events, friends, and family. Over the past four years, that has grown into a love for capturing real moments and creating images with purpose.

I approach every shoot the same way: come prepared, pay attention, and know when the moment is about to happen. Sometimes that means anticipating the biggest moment of a performance. Other times, it means creating a portrait that actually feels like the person in front of my camera.

Whatever I’m photographing, I want the experience to be straightforward and the final images to be clean, intentional, and worth keeping.

It’s a phrase rooted in the marching arts, but it represents how I approach every shoot. Show up prepared. Know what matters. Anticipate the moment before it happens, and deliver clean, intentional work you can count on.
